Fashion seems to be in my blood. I tried to escape it for most of my life, using my style as the only means of asserting my individuality in a household of strong personalities. Still, I couldn’t seem to get away from it and now I consider myself a bit of a fashion and style expert. With that being said, I still didn’t know what the hell Trompe l’Oeil meant until I sat down to write this post.
Trompe l’Oeil isn’t exclusive to fashion. Trompe l’oeil is basically an optical illusion and was made popular by Elsa Schiaparelli’s infamous lobster dress, which was a white silk dress with a lobster painted onto it, courtesy of Salvador Dalí.
